OTHER EVENTS OF INTEREST:

Tuesday, June 3 at 7:00pm
CLIMBER SPEAKING AT THE AA LIBRARY
:  Australian mountain climber Lincoln Hall will make a special appearance at the downtown Library on Tues., June 3 at 7pm. Hall was left for dead near the summit of Mt. Everest on a 2006 climbing expedition and was amazingly found alive the following day by another climbing team.  He will discuss his experience and his book, Dead Lucky: Life After Death on Mount Everest. The event includes a book signing with books available for purchase. Cosponsored by Shaman Drum Bookshop.  http://www.aadl.org/

Three Thursdays, June 26, July 24 & August 28, 5:00-8:00pm.
MONTHLY "GARAGE SALE ON WHEELS" TRUNK-a-PALOOZA:
This event takes place on the fourth Thursday of every month during the summer from 5-8:00pm at the Ann Arbor Farmer's Market.  Folks pay $20 for a stall ($10 for repeat 'Trunkers') then they back up their car and turn their "Things" into someone else's "Treasure".  If you want to trunk, sign up by calling Mary at the Found Gallery at Kerrytown at (734)302-3060.  The Himalayan Bazaar in my "Trunk" is thinking about being there...

Wednesdays & Fridays at 12 noon and Saturdays at 10:30am.
PLAY THE BELLS AT KERRYTOWN:
Atop the familiar tower of the market building (5th Ave at Kingsley) sits a very special 7 ton musical instrument!  It's a "chime", a small carillon made up of 17 bells.  You can hear and play the bells - choose from over 100 songs and play by number - every Wednesday and Friday at noon and Saturdays at 10:30am, or by appointment -- call (734) 369-3107.  It's easy and tons of fun for all ages!  Even Congressman John Dingell played the bells last weekend!  :)

EVENTS OF GLOBAL INTEREST ongoing in Ann Arbor

Play the Bells in the Tower at Kerrytown:  See "Special Events" below.

The Himalayan Bazaar in my Garage:  If you are looking for gifts or other items from around the world (mostly from Nepal) give me a ring to set up an appointment for you and your friends to shop in the Bazaar anytime after December 9.  (734) 369-3107, ofglobal@aol.com.

The You Look So Much Younger Hair Salon (YLSMY HS):  I have started my own hair salon located in the bathroom in the winter and on my front porch in summer (inspired by barbers in Nepal who set up shop under a tree).  The YLSMY HS offers haircuts for $10.  Facials and other treatments with homemade beauty products are also available. Call the YLSMY HS for an appointment:  (734) 369-3107, ofglobal@aol.com.

Henna Hand Drawings:  Decorate your hands for the holidays.  Sign up for a lesson in henna, an all-natural, plant-based stain that leaves a temporary tattoo - drawings and designs in the palm of your hand.  The color (orange) lasts about a week+.  Good fun!  $25 an hour.  Heather (734) 369-3107, ofglobal@aol.com.

Wogging, Treks and Walking Business Meetings Around Town:  Fight the temptation to eat all winter and come wogging with me.  This is a cross between walking and jogging.  It is exactly what you do when it's really cold outside, you are carrying many bags and you are trying to get to your car as fast as possible.  I have many routes around town.  Maybe something is on your mind or you'd like to talk about -- your next trip to Nepal?  What about a walking business meeting?  Bring your colleagues along and discuss your goals and strategic plans for 2007.  I'll take notes (yes, while walking).  Tour guide, wogging coach, trekking/walking partner and/or secretarial fee $25 an hour.  :)  Heather - (734) 369-3107, ofglobal@aol.com.

The Of Global Interest Adventure Cleaning Squad:  I am fast, thorough and efficient.  You'll think an entire squad has been there!  Just me.  $25 an hour.  Heather - (734) 369-3107, ofglobal@aol.com.

Overnight Childcare / Slumber Parties at the Trekkers' Lodge B&B:  Slumber parties include all activities (many from which to choose), dinner and breakfast.  Two children, 5pm to 10am the next day, $150.  Groups negotiable.  Kids must be old enough to sleep in the guest room by themselves.  The Lodge can be rented during the day for birthday parties as well, at $40/hr.

Sincerely,
Heather O'Neal
